Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers has made reinforcement his priority this window, and the wide areas could be set for regeneration this month should circumstances align.
According to reports, the Bhoys want two wingers through the door as they look to shift their dependency on Daizen Maeda and Nicolas Kuhn.
Early indications had Royal Antwerp’s Michel-Ange Balikwisha and Sarpsborg star Sondre Ørjasæter as Celtic targets, but any pursuit involving the duo looks to have gone cold for now.

Frustratingly, Nicolas Kuhn was ruled out of the Hoops’ win over Dundee United, leaving his side light on numbers on either side amid James Forrest’s absence.
Luis Palma’s impressive cameo impressed supporters more than Hyunjun Yang’s underwhelming display against the Tangerines. Either way, the need for another body or two is becoming evident.
With the transfer window starting to take shape, new information has come to light involving a player that Celtic are known to be monitoring.
State of play on Celtic’s long-standing Bazoumana Toure interest
Hammarby winger Bazoumana Toure is a long-time Celtic target, and chief scout Joe Lefevre has run checks on the Ivorian winger as his spell in Sweden goes from strength to strength.
Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Bundesliga clubs have also shown an interest in Toure, who registered nine goals and laid on four assists last campaign.
However, Hammarby sporting director Mikael Hjelmberg has confirmed that no bid from Celtic has come forward for Toure despite suggestions elsewhere that an offer had come to light.
He stated [Fotbollskanalen]: “No there is nothing there. I read today that Celtic would make a bid… it sounded exciting. But nothing has reached me.”
Celtic would need to pay top dollar to land Bazoumana Toure
Toure being of interest to Celtic isn’t new news, with reports stretching back as far as last September claiming the Bhoys would need to shell out a significant fee to land the Ivorian.
Would he be worth the investment? It is hard to argue against the theory, considering his blistering pace and eye for goal on the left flank.
Stat-trackers Fotmob show Toure completed 42 dribbles and created 30 chances during the 2024 Allsvenskan campaign. Working on potential is Brendan Rodgers’ forte; he has a knack for polishing diamonds before they go on to enjoy distinguished careers.
Nevertheless, supporters will need to wait to see if there are any updates on the winger’s situation as clubs around Europe plot transfer business this month.
