Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers is hard at work in the transfer window and will be keen to clear squad space to secure new additions.

Earlier this week, the Bhoys confirmed Stephen Welsh has joined KV Mechelen on loan. Lenny Agbaire has headed out to Ayr United on a similar basis for the remainder of the campaign.

Continuing the theme of exits, Luis Palma is said to be close to signing for Rayo Vallecano on a temporary basis, while the La Liga outfit will have an option to buy should an agreement be completed.

Setting his priorities out, Brendan Rodgers is confident Celtic can land their preferred targets. They aren’t short of finances, but clearing space in the first-team squad is essential to open up the runway.

With outgoing bound to occur, one outgoing Bhoy has been given some heavy praise as he prepares for life in his new environment.

Odin Thiago Holm’s Celtic exit has LAFC purring at his arrival

Celtic are slowly engineering movement on the transfer front, and Odin Thiago Holm is headed to LAFC on loan after failing to make a sustained impact since joining from Valerenga in 2023.

Speaking to The Daily Record, the Major League Soccer outfit’s technical director Neil McGuinness is certain his side are landing a talented asset that has every chance to ‘prove himself’ in the States.

He stated: “He’s a very good player who, for whatever reasons, hasn’t had much of a chance at Celtic. I watched him in Norway and had an interest in him then.

“But obviously the pull Celtic and Europe was huge. He’s very good player technically, he reads the game well and can get out of pressure situations quickly, with a good passing range.

“Let’s see how he does with a full pre-season with us and I think he can get back to a good level. He has a full year to prove himself.”

Odin Thiago Holm needs regular football in loan spell

Holm hasn’t been given much of an opportunity to shine at Celtic, for whatever reason, making just 16 appearances across all competitions, registering a goal and an assist.

Undoutbedly, the Norwegian midfielder has technical quality and isn’t afraid to take the ball in tight situations, but he isn’t in Rodgers’ plans at the moment, making a loan logical for all parties.

Hopefully, Holm can earn regular game time in the MLS and raise his market value as a result. Should he achieve that feat, he won’t have a shortage of interest in his services.
