Celtic supporters would have been waking up with a smile on their faces.

That’s because Kieran Tierney is back in Celtic colours, and ready to rewrite history under Brendan Rodgers and for his boyhood club.

The 27-year-old left Celtic in 2019, joining Arsenal for a club-record transfer of £25 million, and now he returns as a free agent.

That proves the genius of Celtic’s transfer recruitment team because, once again, they have worked their magic and proven why they are so good in this department.

Tierney’s first spell at Celtic was littered with trophies and many great moments, as he also enjoyed that with many great players.

And some of them reacted on social media to the left-back’s return.

How former players reacted to Kieran Tierney’s Celtic return

Leigh Griffiths spent six seasons at Celtic, and he would have watched Tierney rise from the academy and establish himself as one of the best in the country.

Other players who played alongside the popular Scotsman were fellow left-back Emilio Izaguirre, as well as Scott Sinclair and Mikel Lustig.

Alongside those players, Ian Wright also reacted on Instagram to Tierney finally coming back home.

What’s next for Greg Taylor?

The ideal situation for Rodgers is to be able to pick from Tierney and Greg Taylor next season, but it seems as though it won’t happen.

That’s because, as Tierney enters the Parkhead building, Taylor is expected to leave after joining when his fellow countryman left for Arsenal.

Taylor’s contract expires at the end of June, and it’s just a case of waiting for some confirmation, with suggestions that Greek giants PAOK want to sign the former Kilmarnock man.
