Chris Sutton responded to a Manchester United fan wanting his club to sign Celtic’s superstar forward, Kyogo Furuhashi.

The former striker made it clear and responded ‘we don’t want to be getting him out of Celtic’, as he told 606 on BBC Radio 5 Live Sport.

There was Premier League interest in Kyogo this summer, with Tottenham knocking on the door, but he ended all that speculation by signing a new four-year deal.

That was a real statement of intent from the club because sometimes it isn’t easy turning down interest or the money that gets thrown on your table from English teams.

To nobody’s surprise, Kyogo has started the new campaign like a house on fire, scoring in opening wins against Ross County and then at Aberdeen, although, the quicker the League Cup defeat is forgotten about, the better.

Nonetheless, this was the exchange between Bhoys legend Sutton and a Man United fan regarding Kyogo.

“If anybody from Man United is listening,” said the Man United fan. “There is a player I think really, really is a Man United player. I think he is a ten Hag player. I think he is an absolute class act. He works hard and he scores goals. He brings players into play, that’s the Japanese lad at Celtic, Kyogo.”

Sutton responded: “I don’t want to talk about that. We don’t want to be getting him out of Celtic just at this time.”

Kyogo getting the recognition

It’s great to see the Japan international getting the plaudits outside of Scotland because he is a gem of a footballer.

A pocket of dynamite, who suits the modern game with his aggressive pressing and lightning movement, there is no doubt that he is one of Celtic’s best.

Kyogo managed 23 goals in the league last season and now that Brendan Rodgers is through the doors, he will be hoping to better that tally.
