Kyogo Furuhashi has spoken for the first time about former manager, Ange Postecoglou leaving Celtic for Spurs.
The Celtic striker is on international duty with Japan and was asked by the Japanese press about Postecoglou’s departure and the recent rumours linking him with a £20m move to the London club.
Kyogo said [Gekisaka], “The two years we spent together were invaluable for me and I can only thank the manager for inviting me to come to Celtic.

“I hope he will have the confidence to do well at Tottenham.”
Reports in The Sun claimed last week that Postecoglou was expected to make a £20m bid for Kyogo as they face the prospect of losing their star striker, Harry Kane. According to the report, there are also clubs from Europe’s top five leagues also keeping tabs on the Celtic talisman.
Kyogo was asked about the rumours and said, “I don’t know.
“Celtic is a big club. Not only me, but everyone who plays for Celtic wants to play for a big club for as long as possible.
“I want to concentrate on the national team now.” [translated by Deep L]

The Celtic fans will be hoping that the Japanese striker will stay at the club. And by all accounts, he sounds as though he does.
67 Hail Hail discussed this morning how Kyogo has shown a personal desire to become a legend at the club. The Celtic favourite detailed how he wants to emulate the success of another of his famous countrymen, Shunsuke Nakamura.
To do that, he will need to stick around for a few more years yet. Although many Celtic fans already regard him as a legend after his Treble success this year and his goal-scoring exploits last season, Kyogo clearly has aims to etch his name further into the Celtic history books.
