The Daily Mail have reported incoming Celtic signing Jonjoe Kenny could make his debut for the club against Kilmarnock on Tuesday night.

Kenny is in Scotland putting the finishing touches to a loan move from Everton.

Neil Lennon has stated in his press conference today that the right-back has even been in attendance at Lennoxtown, with just the paperwork to be finalised [Clyde 1].

Celtic sold Jeremie Frimpong to Bayer Leverkusen last week and have an urgent need for a right-sided defender.

Kenny, 23, has made 48 appearances for Everton to date [Transfermarkt].

The former England youth international has also spent a solid spell out on loan at Bundesliga club Schalke, making 34 appearances for them last season.

Even on a loan basis, Kenny’s arrival at Celtic is better than nothing. Everton are said to value him at as much as £10m on the open market.

Celtic’s form is in a serious tailspin and anything that adds a bit of freshness to performances must been seen as a positive.

Although the title race is over, the Bhoys are at risk of being drawn into a fight for second, having secured just one win in six. Nothing is a guarantee between now and May.

Kenny at least boosts options on the right flank. Fingers crossed he’s a good one.

In other news, there’s been an update on Celtic’s quest to sign Japhet Tanganga.
