The January transfer window is officially open and Celtic will have business to do.

The Hoops’ scouting team will be working hard in the background with Brendan Rodgers determined to land his targets.

New head of operations Paul Tisdale will also be grafting in a bid to ensure the boss gets the players he wants for the run-in where a Premiership title and Scottish Cup are still up for grabs.

Of course, Champions League knockout football is also still available should the club do what needs to be done against Young Boys and Aston Villa.

So that could make this window one of the more vital ones in some time despite the wait to register any new faces.

Rodgers has made it clear he wants firepower at Celtic in January, as he delivered with Adam Idah and Nicolas Kuhn last season.

But there will also be outgoings. 67 Hail Hail takes a look at this morning’s latest.

Kieran Tierney Celtic transfer latest

The former Hoops star is playing the waiting game having been told by Arsenal they would not be renewing his contract.

Rodgers wants Tierney back in Glasgow but there will still be some issues to iron out. It’s understood a pre-contract remains a viable option depending on salary.

A fee could also be thrashed out with the Gunners, still, should they wish to sanction his exit this month and that would certainly be handy for KT who is back fit and looking for games.

Four Celtic players to leave the club

Alexandro Bernabei has returned from his loan at Internacional but it looks like he is finally set to end his time at Parkhead with a £4.5million switch to Brazil.

Internacional sent their sporting director to Glasgow to make sure the deal gets over the line and according to reports it looks like it’s all but sealed.

Odin Holm is set to leave for LAFC on loan while Luis Palma also has MLS interest, as we told you.

Stephen Welsh is poised to depart for Mechelen but there is to be no future fee or purchase option involved in any deal for the defender.

Carney Chukwuemeka Celtic roadblock emerges

Michel-Ange Balikwisha is one wide man who has been linked to Celtic and that remains an open line of communication with his club, Royal Antwerp.

No official move has yet been made but he would offer a fresh alternative to Daizen Maeda who has been terrific for the club.

Carney Chukwuemeka may have been priced out of a move to Celtic with his £40million release clause far too steep.

A loan could be an option but Chelsea have several clubs they could farm the player out to as part of a partnership.
