Celtic defender Kris Ajer has confirmed he wants to leave the club this summer in a press conference with Norwegian media.

As reported by VG journalist Arilas Ould-Saada, Ajer said: “With one year left of my contract, that would be the best solution for me and my club.

“Something is going to happen this summer.”

It has been reported by The Scottish Sun that Norwich City have been scouting the player. Other clubs such as Newcastle and Bayer Leverkusen are said to be keen.

Celtic will be looking for as much cash as possible. Anything north of £10m will be seen as good business for the club.

Ajer hasn’t helped by officially stating he wants away. It’s a bit disrespectful. He really should be keeping quiet on speculation and letting the club get on with it.

Though, with the club in the state it is in, I suppose he can’t really be blamed. We have no manager, so how can we expect the squad to have discipline?

It’d be a blow if Ajer was sold early in the summer. European qualifiers come around quickly for us in July, so ideally we’d use him for those.

By the sounds of it though, he is looking for a sharp exit.

More on this when we get it.
