London journalist reports sensational potential Celtic reunion with Odsonne Edouard

It has been a crazy Monday for Celtic news and transfer reports. It continues, with a new update linking the Bhoys to a move for Odsonne Edouard.

We’ve already had Matt O’Riley’s confirmed exit, as well as indications of a new left-back arriving and personal terms being agreed with Arne Engels of Augsburg.

Now it’s said that Celtic are eyeing a reunion with one of their star former players.

Edouard was a sensation during his time at the Bhoys, scoring 87 goals and assisting 38 more in 179 appearances for the club before exiting to Crystal Palace.

Odsonne Edouard could be available for Celtic transfer

Now Palace are making room in their squad for a potential Eddie Nketiah purchase from Arsenal and it’s Edouard who could be made available.

That’s the report of London journalist Bobby Manzi, who works for NewsQuest title News Shopper.

He states that Celtic are keen on doing a deal for the player if is given the go-ahead to leave by the Eagles.

Edouard has maintained good relations with Celtic

We know that Edouard loved his time in Glasgow and he’s kept in touch with the club over the years, too.

At the end of last season, he was even an honoured guest at the Celtic Player of the Year Awards event at the Hydro.

While this report seems like one of those outlandish late transfer window rumours, it wouldn’t be a massive shock to see the Frenchman back in Celtic colours.

That’s especially true if you consider Manchester City are said to be interested in current star forward Kyogo Furuhashi.

The finances of any deal would have to be right, of course. A loan might be more likely. Edouard would earn less wages up here than in London.

But isn’t the thought of the 26-year-old tearing up Scottish football again fantastic? I think so. It’s one to watch over the coming days.
