Celtic fans don’t want to see Kyogo Furuhashi leave the club this summer so it’s heartening to hear that the club are ensuring the bar is high on a potential exit.
Reports this week indicate Manchester City have the Japanese forward on a shortlist of potential signings this summer to replace Julian Alvarez and Liam Delap.
Kyogo has been a standout talent for Celtic since joining the club in 2021, scoring 73 goals in 135 appearances and becoming a firm favourite with supporters.
He remains the best striker at the club despite the arrival of Adam Idah and would be an essential part of Celtic’s season moving forward if he stays.
Celtic’s asking price for Kyogo Furuhashi
At 29, Celtic likely wouldn’t get a record-breaking fee for the striker, with previous giant sales of Kieran Tierney and Jota a result of potential as well as current ability.
Nonetheless, the Scottish champions wouldn’t let him go on the cheap either.
The Scottish Daily Mail reports it would take a bid north of £20m to let Kyogo leave this summer despite the power and pull of City.

Celtic hold a strong hand when it comes to a potential departure, having Kyogo on a contract until the summer of 2027. There’s no necessity to sell, so a club would have to come in at an expensive price to land him.
Celtic must proceed carefully on transfer departures
With another star player, Matt O’Riley, heading for an exit this summer, Celtic are facing a difficult final week of the window.
O’Riley leaving in isolation is one thing, but if that is followed by the departure of other key stars in Brendan Rodgers’ starting eleven then that will be difficult for many fans to accept.
The club can’t afford to significantly weaken the manager’s options with eight Champions League games on the horizon.
