Celtic spent quite a lot of money during the summer of 2023, or you could say wasted.
Brendan Rodgers returned as Hoops boss and went on to splurge around £19m on new players to put his own stamp on the first-team squad.
Looking back now, the recruitment executed was a disaster with nearly half of the signings expected to leave this summer, either permanently or on loan.
And to make matters worse, all of those players in question are contracted at Paradise until 2028, as they all signed five-year deals.
One of those is defender Maik Nawrocki, who is well down the pecking order as far as Rodgers is concerned.
Celtic fans rate Nawrocki, yet the Polish stopper has only been played when Rodgers has been forced into it, such as the defeat to Rangers in March.
Now, it appears Nawrocki is looking for more regular football and a Polish team have been linked with signing him on loan.

Pogoń Szczecin want to sign Nawrocki on loan
According to wSzczecinie.pl, Nawrocki is wanted on loan by Pogoń Szczecin, who play in the Polish top-flight.
It is understood that the club’s chiefs want to reinforce their squad for the 2025/26 season and Nawrocki appears to have been identified as an option.
The report adds that Nawrocki wants to return to his best form, so perhaps a loan back to his home country could deliver that for him.
wSzczecinie.pl wrote: “Maik Nawrocki, currently a Celtic Glasgow player, may soon be loaned to Pogoń Szczecin – wSzczecinie.pl has learned.
“The owners of the Szczecin club are working on reinforcements for the next season of PKO Bank Polski Ekstraklasa.”
Nawrocki has already been advised to leave Celtic
There’s been very little indication that Rodgers will change his mind on Nawrocki, despite shelling out £4.3m to sign the 24-year-old.
Celtic legend John Hartson said in April that Nawrocki hasn’t really put a foot wrong for the Hoops whenever he has played.
But he would have no issue with Nawrocki if he lodged a request to leave Celtic this summer, either on loan or permanently.
Hartson said: “Absolutely not, he came in and I think he has played one game since that (Rangers).
“It’s about playing, being involved and making an impact on the team, in some way or another. If I am out in the cold, I want to go. Why would I want to stay somewhere where I am not playing every week?”
