‘Extremely disrespected’… Celtic fans name their most underrated player, there’s a clear winner

There are plenty of Celtic players who can look back on their season with pride.

Daizen Maeda is the obvious star player, scoring over 30 goals and to nobody’s surprise, being named the player of the season.

Kasper Schmeichel has also been brilliant in his debut season at Parkhead, as has boyhood Celtic fan Luke McCowan.

There are too many names to mention in all honesty as Brendan Rodgers‘ remains on the cusp of a domestic Treble.

But who has been the club’s most underrated player? For Celtic fans, there’s only one clear winner.

Maik Nawrocki named by Celtic fans as the most underrated player

Celtic supporter Stacey Devilin asked who was Celtic’s most underrated player on X and the overwhelming answer appeared to be Maik Nawrocki.

@Rich322020 replied: “Nawrocki. Boys really good, doesn’t get the credit he deserves.”

@Wow_1967_ agreed with the above, saying: “Nawrocki, a great player who is extremely disrespected with the amount of game time he gets.”

@paddymckeever11 commented: “Nawrocki all day.”

@gerry_church also said: “Nawrocki.”

Maik Nawrocki deserves to start in Scottish Cup final

Nawrocki impressed Celtic fans against Aberdeen and was by far and away the best player.

The Polish defender scored and led from the back but has found himself on the sidelines, playing second fiddle to Liam Scales or Auston Trusty, who partner Cameron Carter-Vickers.

Compared to the other three centre-backs, Nawrocki hasn’t even been given anywhere near enough of a chance and that perhaps explains why he is one of the Celtic players who could leave this summer.

Despite doubts over his future, the defender deserves to start at Hampden Park and has proved with little time how effective he could be as a partner to Carter-Vickers.
