The latest Celtic transfer news and rumours on January 21st which sees an update on Maik Nawrocki’s link to an exit, Mathias Kvistgaarden latest and Hearts’ raid on the Celtic B team.

Maik Nawrocki has seen his dream move to Celtic turn into a nightmare after struggling to make a breakthrough into Brendan Rodgers’ first team.

Despite that, Nawrocki has been of interest to Oxford United as the English Championship side looks to solidify its position in England’s second tier with a loan mover for the Celtic stopper, writes the Daily Record.

When directly asked about the links to Nawrocki, U’s manager, Gary Rowett said he was hopeful that his team could make at least two signings before the window closes.

Rowett told the Oxford Mail, “I know Ed [Waldron, head of football operations] is spending every waking hour speaking to agents and clubs, trying to sign players. We’re certainly very proactive.

“How close we are, I don’t know. We’d hope to maybe get one or two more bodies in before the weekend. That would be the hope, but you never know.

“I spent all afternoon looking at players in the hotel room. That’s what we want to do, we want to strengthen the group.

“The more times we lose a body, it just furthers that need and that desire to do that. It’s one of those things as a manager, I can sit here and stamp my feet, and say I need six players, but the reality is that it’s not as easy as that.

“We’ve got really good people working at the club, and we’re all trying to strengthen the squad as effectively as we can.”

Celtic face stiff competition for Mathais Kvistgaarden

Mathias Kvistgaarden is a name that hasn’t left the Celtic rumour mill since last summer. First linked with a Parkhead move when Rodgers returned as Celtic manager, 67 Hail Hail revealed just two months ago that Hoops scouts have Kvistgaarden in their sights again after several scouting missions taking place this season.

However, it seems that if Celtic do have intentions of signing the young forward, they face stiff competition from Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt, according to Sky Sports, Florian Plettenberg.

Taking to social media, Plettenberg said, “Mathias Kvistgaarden, also one of several candidates Eintracht Frankfurt are considering to replace Omar Marmoush. 22 y/o versatile striker under contract with Brondby IF.

“As already analyzed in our Transfer Update show: technically well-trained with a very dynamic style of play. Explosive over the first few meters, frequently making deep runs into the attack, often drifting into half-spaces or onto the wings to engage in dribbles.

“Perfectly aligns with Eintracht’s playing style. Excellent anticipation in the box, with high finishing quality, including headers.”

Hearts raid Celtic B after confirming capture of ‘technically excellent’ young talent

67 Hail Hail discussed yesterday how Hearts were in talks to sign young promising Celtic B talent, Aiden Haddow as per the Daily Record.

Named as part of Celtic’s Champions League List B squad, Haddow had entered the final six months of his contract as Hearts made their move.

Last night the SPFL club announced the signing of young Haddow on social media as the Edinburgh side’s B team boss gushed about the capture.

Beith told Hearts’ official website, “Aiden is a very exciting young player, who will add further competition to our midfield.

“Technically, he is excellent, but more importantly he has that hunger and desire to learn and keep improving his game.

“I’m delighted he’s with us and I’m looking forward to working with him.”
