Some good news, Celtic fans, it seems like there is progress on the transfer front ahead of Monday’s deadline.
It has been a rather frustrating January transfer window for Celtic so far, with only two players arriving this month in the form of Julian Araujo and Tomas Cvancara.
But following Celtic’s Europa League win over Utrecht on Thursday night, which helped the Hoops progress to the play-off stages.
Martin O’Neill was pretty upbeat about potential new signings coming in, especially to enhance the wing, as the names of Fares Ghedjemis and Damir Redzic were put forward to him.

How are your first impressions of Damir Redzic?

Martin O’Neill provides a positive response in Celtic’s push to sign Fares Ghedjemis and Damir Redzic
First things first, O’Neill is more hopeful, and he stated that there has been ‘progress’ in the push to bring in more players.
Speaking in Celtic’s post-match Utrecht press conference, O’Neill was asked by several journalists about the transfer situation.
One reporter threw in the names of Ghedjemis and Redzic, who are right-sided wingers, and it seems one or the other could arrive.
Another thing that the Celtic boss clarified was that the champions of Scotland are only going for the one, not both, as posted by Sky Sports.
Journalist: “I am going to throw a couple of names at you. You are heavily linked with a couple of wingers. Ghedjemis, playing in Italy in Serie B. And Redzic.”
O’Neill: “I will tell you, you wouldn’t be a million miles away. Do you know this here, honestly, I see your face in my sleep.”
Journalist: “Scary thought.”
O’Neill: “No, it’s not a scary thought. It’s just, ‘I wonder what he is going to ask me.’ You wouldn’t be a million miles off.”
Journalist: “Confidence. Percentage-wise?”
O’Neill: “Percentage, that I don’t know about percentage.”
Journalist 2: “Martin, they are both wingers. Would it be one or the other? Not both.”
O’Neill: “It could be.”
Journalist 2: “Are you more hopeful than you were yesterday?”
O’Neill: “Actually, I think I am.”
Journalist 2: “There has been progress today?”
O’Neill: “There is progress today on certain things, yes. Sorry, I don’t want to be that cryptic. I would hate to say something is certain, and then it falls away.”
