Reports in Mexico claim that Celtic have gone to watch the forward in his homeland after he won the golden boot while playing for Chivas last season.

Armando Gonzalez date of birth, age, height and weight

Armando “Hormiga” González Alba was born on 20 December 2003 in Celaya, Guanajuato, Mexico.

At the time of writing, the forward is 22 years old and is 179cm tall, or five feet and 10 inches.

Sofifa claims that the forward is 68kg.

What does Armando Gonzalez’s nickname mean?

In his homeland, Gonzalez is known as ‘La Hormiga’, which translates to ‘the ant’.

This was given to him as the forward reportedly had a childhood phobia of ants.

He has also been called ‘El Otaku del Gol’, translated as ‘the anime goal fan’ due to his eye-catching goal celebrations that pay homage to his love for anime.

Gonzalez won the golden boot in the 2025 campaign after a brilliant season for Chivas.

Last season he scored 12 goals from 17 games in the Liga MX Apertura and has five from six in the Clausura this year.
