If Celtic don’t sign a striker before the January transfer window slams shut, then you can bet your bottom dollar it will annoy the fanbase.
There is already frustration in the air because of the lack of business from Celtic this month and the team’s performances out on the pitch.
That was proven during the 1-0 win over Ross County on Saturday, with the Parkhead faithful booing the fans after the full-time whistle and Joe Hart issuing his honest reaction to it all.
But what ‘worries’ Neil Lennon is an injury to Kyogo Furuhashi and then no striker being available to fill his void, as he told PLZ Soccer.
As of this moment, Hyeongyu Oh is currently away on international duty, but he is getting mixed reports from people about how he has performed since joining the club.
If another striker comes in, not only will he bring added quality, but he might just bring some much-needed competition and push Kyogo Furuhashi out of the Celtic XI.
But as Neil Lennon alluded to, ‘it’s alright saying Celtic have the money’, but that doesn’t mean there is a realistic signing out there who is better than who Brendan Rodgers is picking from.
Celtic’s striker search
“I am worried if Kyogo gets injured,” admitted Lennon. “That would be a worry for the second half of the season. Do they have enough?
“Could you play Maeda through the middle? He’s not a natural finisher. I do think there is room to bring another one in, no question.
“It cost money. It’s alright saying ‘Celtic have the money’. What they have to do if they are going to spend money is, in their eyes, bring in better what they have already got.”

Kyogo Furuhashi’s importance
In terms of consistency, not even the most ardent of Celtic fans can argue, he just hasn’t been at it and that bite is missing from his game.
But the big positive from it all is that he is stepping up and proving his worth when it matters most. Kyogo is the derby day king for a reason now!
Saying that, the Japan star could probably do with someone actually pushing for his starting place and dethroning him from the XI.
It might just spark something back into his game, and if that happens, then Celtic are the only real winners.
