His favourite colour is green, and his game is all about energy: welcome to Celtic, Liam Shaw.

Shaw has officially become a member of Celtic Football Club. The 20-year-old, formerly of Sheffield Wednesday, has signed a 4-year deal. The club announced his signature today, while also sharing an interview with the new Bhoys midfielder [Celtic FC].

Upon signing the deal, Shaw said [Celtic FC]:

“It’s obviously been a long time coming, 6 or 7 months when I found out. Overwhelming, to be honest, to come here and see the stadium.

“I’ve put pen to paper now, so I can go back to pre-season, hopefully hit the ground running, meet all the lads and get my head down and work hard. I can’t wait to get started!

“When I heard Celtic were interested, I couldn’t believe it to be honest. A club of this stature, [with] how many trophies they’ve won, one of the biggest clubs in Europe probably… Couldn’t really describe what I was feeling. It was massive for me and my family to get that kind of recognition.

A new dawn beckons for Celtic in Europe, as Joe Hart shows his class once again

“I’d describe myself as a box-to-box midfielder, lot of energy up and down, can score and goal, and aggressive. I like a tackle, and to press people.

“There’s a new manager, so everyone’s got a fresh start. You just have to go in and impress him. All the way through my career I’ve had different managers. All you have to do is keep your head down and show your ability, and show you’ve got a good attitude. Hopefully they pick you, and you do well for him.”
