Giorgios Giakoumakis is on the move in most transfer windows.
His 18 months at Celtic were over in a flash, and he has played for three clubs since leaving the Hoops in January 2023.
Giakoumakis’ goals, particularly in Ange Postecoglou’s first season, were crucial – even when coming from the bench, as they often did given the form of Kyogo Furuhashi.
The Greek international is currently on loan at PAOK from Mexican giants Cruz Azul. He is one of three ex-Celts at the Greek club, alongside Greg Taylor and Jonjoe Kenny.
But he could be set to join a third club of the season already, with big-money bids already flying around.

‘GG’ left Glasgow for MLS, joining Atlanta United for £3.5 million.
Just over a year later, he made a £7.7 million move to Mexico, where he struggled to settle.

That’s why he’s back on loan in his homeland – and there, he’s back among the goals, with PAOK locked in a tight three-way title race.
However, Cruz Azul hold the right to recall him in January, if there’s sufficient interest to sell him.
And according to a report from major Brazilian outlet UOL, that interest is being provided by Atletico Mineiro, who have made a proposal of $6.5 million.
That’s quite a hefty price tag, given that Giakoumakis is 31 – but if you look at his recent record, he does seem to come with a guarantee of goals.
With the Hoops also in the market for a striker this winter, the question will inevitably be asked about whether a sensational return should be explored.
But a 31-year-old at that price tag? And the Celtic board? That definitely seems like a non-starter.
Giorgos Giakoumakis back to Celtic: good idea or bad idea?
Giorgos Giakoumakis’ Celtic career
Joining from Dutch side VVV Venlo, Giakoumakis instantly established a reputation as a scorer of important goals for Celtic.
Despite starting just eleven games in the Premiership, he finished as the league’s top goalscorer with 13. His record of one goal every 80 minutes was truly outrageous.
From his last-gasp winner at St Johnstone to his crucial hat-trick at home to Dundee, he rarely passed up on the opportunity to lap up the celebrations when contributing for the Hoops.
But when the MLS offer came along, a move for more game time felt like a no-brainer, and he was replaced by Hyeon-Gyu Oh.
