Celtic winger Scott Sinclair appears to be on the verge of signing for English Championship side Preston North End and some of their fans seem delighted by it all.

STV has reported on Tuesday that the attacker has completed a medical at Deepdale ahead of a January switch, calling time to his three-and-a-half-year relationship with the Scottish Champions.

Sinclair had struggled for game time in Neil Lennon’s first-team but was a crucial component in the Hoops’ recent ‘treble treble’ success, scoring more goals for the club between 2016 and 2019 than anyone else.

If Preston can keep the 30-year-old fit and motivated then they should have an impressive performer on their hands, with Sinclair also having deep knowledge and experience of English football.

While we noted earlier that some Celtic fans are disappointed with the news, at Preston’s end there is plenty of excitement, with supporters now eager to see the goal threat announced.

Some of their fans feel he could be the perfect signing to help them climb the table and push for a promotion play-off spot.

It’s certainly going to be interesting to see how Sinclair fares in the second-tier. His last spell in the Championship, back in 2010/11, resulted in 19 goals from 43 league matches (Transfermarkt).
