Celtic’s reported interest in Camilo Duran sits in that familiar early-window space where headlines are generated but there is no real movement on a deal being reached.
We told how Celtic targeted Duran as the Colombian’s Champions League form appears to have caught the eye of the Parkhead scouts.
And now, Qarabag manager Gurban Gurbanov has broken his silence on his star striker and it appears a summer exit is a possibility.

Gurbanov leaves door open to summer departures amid Celtic links
The most direct indication of Qarabag’s position comes from Gurban Gurbanov himself, who did not shut down the conversation around a summer exit when asked about if any of his players could leave the club.
Asked whether any Qarabag players could leave this summer, Gurbanov refused to rule out departures and admitted a move away was “possible“.
Gurbanov clearly did not suggest he would sell Duran, but it is an acknowledgement of interest around one of their attacking players.
For Celtic, that keeps the possibility of Duran moving to Parkhead going.
Celtic interest and Qarabag’s £2m valuation of Duran
The reason Duran is even in the conversation is straightforward. His numbers in Europe and domestic football have been impressive.
- 48 appearances
- 5 Champions League goals
- Nine Premyer Liga goals
- Nine Premyer Liga assists
Qarabag’s valuation, with figures around the £2m mark being touted. It places him in a bracket where Celtic have operated before, particularly when targeting players with European experience who are still developing rather than fully established first-team players.
For now, Celtic’s reported interest remains at the scouting stage. Qarabag have not ruled out a sale, but there is still no real indication that negotiations are underway.
