Rapid Wien have been given the go-ahead to sign Marco Tilio.
Tilio signed for Celtic two years ago from Melbourne City, but he’s only managed to make two first-team appearances under Brendan Rodgers.
The winger has spent most of his Celtic contract back on loan with City, before returning to Lennoxtown at the start of the summer for pre-season training.
Celtic and Rapid had previously agreed a loan-to-buy deal for the Aussie, with the initial loan costing around £350k.
And if Tilio made over 20 appearances this season for Rapid, there would be an obligation to buy for a seven figure transfer fee.

Structure of Tilio’s switch from Celtic to Rapid changes
However, according to Kurier, the structure of the deal has now changed. Rapid will sign Tilio permanently in a move that works out better financially for the club.
Celtic have now sanctioned the move and it’s likely Tilio will complete the switch to Rapid before the transfer window closes on September 1.
The Hoops were delaying the release of Tilio to Rapid before they knew they could guarantee a replacement for him.
So does this mean Celtic are about to sign a new winger in the next few days?
What Brendan Rodgers said about Tilio
On Tuesday at his pre-Kairat Almaty press conference, Celtic boss Rodgers gave an update on Tilio’s situation.
He said: “We have to make sure that it is the right loan.
“And the two boys you mentioned (Tilio and Stephen Welsh) have been great and they have had opportunities to move on, and I hope for them that they get the chance to do that.
“But there’s a little bit more behind the scenes that needs to happen for that to take place.”
