Celtic have enquired about the availability of Nigerian striker Stephen Odey, allnigeriasoccer.com has reported today.

The outlet believes that the Bhoys have contacted Danish club Randers in order to find out his asking price, after he scored 13 goals in all competitions for the Superliga club last season.

It’s stated Celtic have not yet submitted an official bid.

Odey’s contract in Denmark expires in 2024 and the outlet reports that Randers are looking for a fee of around £3.5m for the player.

He had initially joined the club on loan from Genk last summer but was quickly snapped up on a permanent basis midway through the campaign.

Celtic are believed to be in the market for another striker this summer despite the presence of Kyogo Furuhashi and Giorgos Giakoumakis.

Albian Ajeti’s future at the club looks bleak and a third option could be crucial in a long season across four competitions.

Daizen Maeda can also play through the middle but has been more effective for the Bhoys on the left flank.

Odey is 24 and already has experience playing in four European leagues in Belgium, Switzerland, France and Denmark.

He has also made appearances in the UEFA Champions League, Europa League and Conference League, once scoring against Liverpool for Genk.

The striker is represented by the ROOF agency, which looks after some of the biggest stars in Europe including Sadio Mane and Kai Havertz.

His is another name to add to the transfer watchlist this summer!
