Celtic goalkeeper Ross Doohan is set to join Ross County on loan this summer, The Daily Record reports.
Doohan is 22 but has yet to make his senior debut for the Hoops in competitive action.
He’s spent the last two seasons out on loan at Ayr United where he’s made 80 appearances, helping keep 30 clean sheets (Transfermarkt).
The Scotland U21 international is now apparently ready to make the step up to the top-flight, with his contract at Celtic Park not expiring until 2022.
It’s always a difficult transition for young goalkeepers to break into the Celtic team but, hopefully, this experience will serve him well before a renewed push towards making the grade in Glasgow.
Celtic are well known to be on the hunt for goalkeepers this summer.
The Record believes we may even sign two.
However, with only Scott Bain and Conor Hazard available ahead of Doohan right now, the youngster may be kept waiting before his loan move is finalised.
If Doohan does make the move to County, he’ll be competing with 28-year-old Ross Laidlaw, who has had previous spells at Dundee United and Hibernian.

Manager Stuart Kettlewell told the Press & Journal about his goalkeeping situation earlier this month: “We have an injury to Ross Munro, so we are operating with Ross Laidlaw and a 16-year-old.
“We need to add a bit of strength and competition into that area for the start of the season. We have been active at identifying the ones we want but it has been a slightly longer process.”
It sounds like the perfect opportunity for Doohan to make his mark.
In other news, Celtic scouts are said to have been impressed by Grady Diangana’s performances for West Bromwich Albion.
