Celtic are open to January deals for Vasilis Barkas, Albian Ajeti and Boli Bolingoli, The Daily Record has reported.
This is no shock. None of them have been able to force their way into Ange Postecoglou’s plans for a variety of reasons. However, they have all been given minutes this term, usually out of necessity.
It’s easier on paper than in reality to shift deadwood though. There’s a decent chance that Celtic make a loss on all three given they arrived at the club for multi-million-pound fees.

However, at this point getting any sort of money for them at this point is a bonus. Just shedding them from the wage bill is progress. It’s hard to see how any of them could capture form at Celtic that becomes profitable in the transfer market.
Ismaila Soro is also reported by The Daily Record to be another potential January exit. Again, that will come as no surprise to anyone given his lack of minutes over the last six months.
Soro was used consistently in the early stages of the season but has struggled to make an impression and has barely featured since September. With Yosuke Ideguchi joining the club, he is falling even further down the pecking order.
None of these players is really adding anything to the first-team, nor squad depth, so hopefully Celtic can get them shifted out and free up budgets for most useful Postecoglou options.
It’s as important a part of the transfer window as any other.
