Report: Celtic ruled out of move for Blackburn Rovers youngster Tyrhys Dolan
Celtic aren’t interested in a move for Blackburn Rovers winger Tyrhys Dolan, according to a report this evening from Football Scotland [Transfer blog, 20/06, 14:41].
As Ange Postecoglou looks to continue building his Celtic side ahead of his second season in charge, the Bhoys have already been linked to countless names.
One of the latest names linked earlier today was Blackburn forward Dolan.
Originally coming through the Manchester City academy, Dolan departed the Etihad side to join the Preston North-End youth set-up.
Having featured for the Preston under-18s side, the young Englishman was on the move once again just three years later, joining fellow English Championship side Blackburn Rovers.
The 20-year-old continued his rise through the ranks by making his debut for Rovers during the 2020/21 season and has since become a regular at Ewood Park.
Tyrhys Dolan to Celtic cooled after latest report
Last season, the forward made 35 senior appearances for Tony Mowbray’s side, scoring five goals and picking up three assists, which reportedly caught the eye of Celtic, Rangers and Nottingham Forest [TalkSPORT].
With his ability to play across the frontline, and a deal for the youngster only being around the £2 million mark, it seemed like a realistic option for Ange Postecoglou and his staff.
However, according to Football Scotland, Dolan isn’t on Celtic’s radar, with the club not currently interested in making a move this summer.
The Blackburn star isn’t the first, and he certainly won’t be the last linked with the Champions of Scotland this summer.
A number of the Hoops links have already been put to bed, with agents likely looking to use the Bhoys as a potential bargaining tool to entice other sides into making a move.
The Celtic support will be waiting patiently, with trust in Postecoglou that the correct transfer business will come with time this window.
