Dundee are keeping tabs on the goalkeeping situation at Celtic, with a view to potentially signing Conor Hazard again, The Daily Record reports.

The 23-year-old has already had spells on loan at Dens Park, playing 11 times in total for the club when they were in the Championship.

Now seeking regular first-team football, he could be returning to Tayside.

It’s a situation Dundee are paying attention to. The Record believes that if Celtic splash out on a new goalkeeper such as Mat Ryan, Hazard will be in line for a loan exit this summer.

The Northern Ireland international continues to make steady progress at the Bhoys. He got a taste of first-team action last season but ultimately couldn’t keep his place in the team. That was despite the faltering form of Vasilis Barkas and Scott Bain.

However, it was enough to convince the club to sign him up to new terms in March. The contract he penned keeps him at the club until 2023.

So there is some sort of belief amongst the goalkeeping coaches he has a future at Celtic Park, even in a backup capacity.

Right now, he’s never a number one. He really needs match experience under his belt and a loan move to a Scottish Premiership outfit would be ideal.

There’s competition for places at the Dees and if Hazard really has the potential to play regularly for Celtic, he would excel for them. It could be the test we’re looking for.

Can he do the business in the top-flight?
