Celtic have made initial enquiries about signing West Ham United winger Grady Diangana this summer, The Glasgow Times reports.

We discussed last night that scouts from the Bhoys were reported to have been impressed with his performances on loan at West Bromwich Albion throughout 2019/20.

Now it seems that interest has progressed enough for the Scottish champions to make contact about a potential switch to Glasgow.

It’s said by The Glasgow Times that Diangana is also attracting enquiries from clubs on the continent but that the winger himself is open to a move to Scotland, with the lure of playing regularly in UEFA competition attractive.

Intriguingly, the outlet also reports that Premiership rivals Rangers are keen on Diangana this summer, having come close to signing him in 2019 before his move to West Brom.

Still just 22, Diangana is said to want first-team football most of all next season, which may not be on offer when he returns to the London Stadium.

West Ham, as a result, are open to another loan move or even a permanent deal.

The winger has scored seven goals and assisted six times in 28 English Championship appearances over the last 12 months (Transfermarkt), helping the Baggies push for promotion into the Premier League.

Celtic have ensured Mohamed Elyounoussi will be at the club for another season but could do with more width following the departures of Jonny Hayes and Daniel Arzani.

James Forrest is available on the right flank, with prospects Mikey Johnston and Karamoko Dembele also potentially ready for more first-team football.

However, with Marian Shved nowhere near contention, another quality option in the squad to compete for places would be welcome.

Diangana may be a player we have to wait on though, with the English season reaching its climax.

In other news, it’s reported that Joe Hart is not close to joining Celtic this week despite online rumours.
