Celtic remain in discussions with Jota and his representatives about sealing a permanent move to the Bhoys, but the signs are positive.

That’s the word from The Daily Record’s latest update on the situation this weekend.

Some supporters have been anxious about the deal getting over the line but it appears everything is moving towards the end destination all of us want to see.

The report states that current discussions are on the wages and length of contract for the Portuguese talent, with negotiations at the Benfica end concluded.

It’s said that Ange Postecoglou “fully expects” him to be Celtic’s first signing of the summer transfer window.

Jota became a real fan-favourite during his debut campaign at the Bhoys and, if he signs, will be a key player in the manager’s starting eleven next term.

Jota can build his career at Celtic after Benfica struggles

Jota has long been a hyped talent on the European scene. He became a closely-watched teenager in Portugal after helping his nation to a U17 Euros tournament win in 2016.

After starring for Benfica B, he made 27 senior appearances for the famous club before heading out on loan to Spain.

It’s in Scotland working under Postecoglou he’s found his groove though and this can be the destination he really builds his reputation.

That’s started already, with 13 goals and 14 assists in all competitions for the Bhoys in his debut loan year.

Settled in Glasgow, with the full confidence of the club, there’s no limit to what he could achieve here over the next few years.

It’ll be joyous indeed when the winger puts pen to paper on a Celtic deal.

In other news, Defender attracting Celtic interest is already involved with senior England squad; decision due.
