There are plenty of Celtic connections in the current Scotland squad.
Anthony Ralston and Kieran Tierney will be the two Hoops connections involved in the camp for their upcoming qualifiers against Greece and Belarus.
Callum McGregor would be there too, if it weren’t for his decision to retire from international football after Euro 2024, in order to focus on contributing for Brendan Rodgers.
Ryan Christie, Craig Gordon, Jack Hendry and Ben Gannon-Doak are all former Celts who are part of Steve Clarke’s squad this week.
One man who was tipped for a move to Celtic last year will be involved as well – and he could be on the move in January.

Under the management of Clarke, Scotland have managed to convince a number of players to change their international allegiances.
None more notably than Che Adams, who committed after the side qualified for Euro 2020. Lyndon Dykes and George Hirst have also been welcomed into the fold.

Another who switched to Scotland, despite getting youth caps for England, is goalkeeper Angus Gunn, who joined Clarke’s setup in 2023.
His contract expired in the summer, after four years at Norwich. Gunn was tipped for a move to Celtic in 2024, when the Hoops eventually signed Schmeichel.
Gunn joined Nottingham Forest in July, but is yet to play a minute for his new club, who are now managed by ex-Hoops boss Ange Postecoglou.
Asked if he felt Forest had ‘moved the goalposts’ over game time after the move, Gunn replied: “Yes. Yes, definitely. It is what it is.”
“I went into a situation at the club where I thought I’d be getting, obviously not regular game time, but some game time in terms of cups and things like that. It’s not really materialised, which I’m disappointed about.
“But obviously I’ve still got the chance to come away here (with Scotland) and get the opportunity to play, like in the last two games. The thing for me, it’s not a long-term contract, so there’s definitely options, even in January, to possibly reconsider.”
Who will Celtic’s goalkeeper be next season?
Kasper Schmeichel’s form is under the microscope, after a high-profile error in last week’s Europa League defeat against Braga.
Schmeichel has largely been an excellent signing for Celtic, but with Viljami Sinisalo rated highly and waiting in the wings, some think the circumstances warrant a change.
Gunn’s performances for Scotland have split opinion, and any potential move to Celtic would likely do the same.
But the closer we get to the final year of Schmeichel’s Hoops contract, the more rumours will fly around about plans for the goalkeeping position.
