Celtic are generally linked with a multitude of players every transfer window.

Sometimes the Parkhead club picks up genuine world-class talents like Henrik Larsson, Lubomir Moravcik and Kyogo Furuhashi.

Brendan Rodgers, over two spells at Celtic, has signed quality players like Moussa Dembele, Scott Sinclair and Arne Engels.

And it appears that one player the Celtic manager tried to sign in his first spell at the club is set for a huge move to Inter Milan this summer.

Former Celtic target Ademola Lookman ‘wants’ Inter Milan move

Ademola Lookman faced Celtic for Atalanta in last season’s 0-0 draw in the Champions League.

But it seems the Nigerian international striker now wants to leave the Serie A club for Inter Milan as Fabrizio Romano shares how Atalanta want at least €50m (£43.2m) for Lookman.

Romano said on X, “Inter informed Atalanta about their opening €40m bid for Ademola Lookman, while Atalanta insist on fee at least reaching €50m.

“Lookman wants to leave and hope club will facilitate his exit but Atalanta keep their position on no green light to Italian clubs at €40m.”

What Ademola Lookman once told Brendan Rodgers about joining Celtic

Rodgers has openly spoken about the fact he tried to sign Ademola Lookman for Celtic during his first tenure at the Parkhead club.

Rodgers said of the potential move, “Everyone knows the story. I met him in a hotel in London and we were looking to convince him to come – From that moment, we stayed in contact really. When I was at Leicester, we wanted to bring in another winger and enquired about his availability when he was at Red Bull.

On how close the deal was to getting done: “Close that he was really excited by the project of Celtic.

“He was at Charlton, at the time. He always wanted to join a big club and feel those pressures. Everything why a player would want to come to Celtic.”
