Celtic are closing in on Brendan Rodgers’ third and fourth signings of the summer transfer window, with more South Koreans set to join the squad in Glasgow.
It’s long been known that the Bhoys have been looking at the K-League market for additions and eventually moved for striker Hyeongyu Oh in January.
He’s proven to be a committed and talented performer with plenty of potential, and settled in Scotland well, so it makes sense the club would return for more bargains.
The Daily Record reports that Gangwon have approved a £2.1m deal to land winger Yang Hyeon-Jun and it’s said the club are also edging closer to securing a £1m move for midfielder Kwon Hyeok-kyu, who plays for Busan.
The pair, 21 and 22, are both thought to be some of the brightest talents coming out of South Korea and have featured for the country’s youth international sides.
Kwon is a relatively new name to Celtic supporters, while Yang has been consistently and publicly linked with a move to the Bhoys for weeks, even declaring his desire to make the move to Scotland against his club’s wishes.

Kwon is a big, physical midfielder, at over 6’3″ and highlight reels show him to be a tenacious and athletic player in the central areas.
Ultimately, £3.1m on two players is a pretty small outlay from Celtic’s perspective. The club are thought to be shopping in richer markets as the summer progresses.
Staff will now have the chance to improve this pair and adapt them to life at the Bhoys. If they perform as we all hope, they will undoubtedly become more valuable assets to the club.
In other news, Dinamo Zagreb receive substantial offer for Dominik Livakovic but it’s not from Celtic yet.
