Rocco Vata has faced an uncertain Celtic future for much of the 2023/24 season, but clarity could soon be reached.
Vata has been part of the Celtic B set-up throughout the campaign but is again involved in first-team training and match squads after being brought back into the fold by manager Brendan Rodgers.
That’s despite his current deal at the club expiring this summer and the winger being free to speak to other teams about signing a pre-contract.
Last week, it was reported that Vata was in renewed contract talks with the Bhoys about signing a long-term deal in Glasgow.

The Daily Record has now more recently reported that those negotiations with the CAA Base agency are continuing positively ahead of deadline day on Thursday.
Celtic have returned to the table with improved terms for the youngster to sign after an initial offer.
It’s said that Vata’s preference is to stay with the Bhoys if the terms are acceptable and Rodgers has a pathway in mind for him to feature for the senior side.
Vata scored his first senior competitive goal for Celtic last week against Buckie Thistle in the Scottish Cup.

The club are offering a four-year deal, so we could see the 18-year-old commit to the reigning champions until 2028, which would give him a fantastic platform to push on and improve.
Italian sides are waiting in the wings to snap him up should an agreement between Vata and the club not transpire, with teams such as Como, Bologna and Sampdoria able to land for just £140,000 in compensation money.
You’d imagine Celtic will want to get the details sorted on Vata’s future before the end of the transfer window, so expect news either way over the next couple of days.
