Celtic fans are just waiting for the confirmation they don’t want to hear and that’s Kyogo Furuhashi’s official exit from the club.

Along with the weather, it has been a whirlwind week in Glasgow, from Celtic securing knockout football in the Champions League to the news about Kyogo.

As the fans were leaving Parkhead on Wednesday night, the news started to break about Kyogo closing in on a transfer to Rennes and Jota coming back the other way.

It’s your typical bitter-sweet moment. On the one hand, you welcome the return of Jota, but on the other, such a popular and iconic figure is leaving Celtic.

Nobody will ever be better than Henrik Larsson, but the fact that many consider Kyogo to be the best since the King left tells you everything you need to know about the player.

Trevor Sinclair may never have played for Celtic, but he has a lot of love for the champions of Scotland and he shared his thoughts on Kyogo’s imminent exit.

Trevor Sinclair hails Kyogo Furuhashi as a ‘magnificent little giant’ for Celtic

The man signed under Ange Postecoglou in 2021 as an unknown figure, and just like Ange himself, he became an iconic figure at the club.

Many questioned who they were at first, well, everyone knows who they are now and Sinclair was right to hail Kyogo as a ‘quality kid’, as he posted on Twitter.

As every Celtic fan will agree, Sinclair also told Kyogo to ‘go well’ for the rest of his career, as he will soon end his chapter in the green and white colours.

“Knew he was a quality kid, seeing him pick up some rubbish, after being subbed, on his debut,” wrote Sinclair.

“Ended up being a Magnificent Little Giant of a player for the Bhoys. Go well Kyogo Furuhashi HH.”

Kyogo’s numbers for Celtic

The huge shame about all of this is the fact that the Japan star won’t be hitting 100 goals for the club.

One thing is for sure, his quality and performances deserved it, especially his eight strikes against Rangers, whether that be at Ibrox, Hampden or Parkhead. He scored them all.

Overall, Kyogo leaves shy of raising his bat, but those 85 goals are ones the Celtic fans will forever remember.
