Transfermarkt have issued their latest market value update with a number of Celtic players seeing changes.

Every six months, Transfermarkt reassess and update the transfer market values of every player in the Scottish Premiership.

Kyogo Furuhashi was Celtic’s most valued star in the December 2024 update, before the Japanese striker moved to Stade Rennais the following month.

It means there is a new name at the top for the Hoops, while Reo Hatate and Auston Trusty see contrasting fortunes for their own values.

Daizen Maeda and Reo Hatate’s transfer values rise

The biggest Celtic winners are Japanese duo Daizen Maeda and Hatate, with the former enjoying an incredible season in front of goal.

Previously, Maeda’s most prolific campaign was 2022/23 when he netted 11 goals in all competitions. Last season, the 27-year-old scored 33 times for his club.

As a result, Maeda has been handed a €4m upgrade to his Transfermarkt value, up from €10m when the figures were last revised in December 2024.

For Hatate, his value has now jumped to €13m after delivering 20 goal contributions in 55 appearances for the Hoops last season.

Hatate has been linked with Udinese, although rumours have since died down on where his future may lie beyond the ongoing summer window.

Auston Trusty suffers for underwhelming debut season

Brendan Rodgers signed American defender Auston Trusty for £6m last summer from Sheffield United, who had just been relegated to the EFL Championship.

He cost as much as Cameron Carter-Vickers did for the Hoops in 2022, but has come nowhere near to making the same impact as his fellow countryman.

Trusty failed to put in performances that warranted a definitive starting spot in the Celtic XI every week, with Liam Scales also being used frequently.

As such, Trusty’s market value has dropped from €7.5m to €6m. The same can be said for captain Callum McGregor, although that is primarily influenced by his age.

Celtic dominate Scottish Premiership’s top 10

It’s no surprise that Scotland’s biggest and most successful side have the most valuable players in the Scottish top-flight.

Maeda is at the top and he is followed by Carter-Vickers, Hatate, Arne Engels and Nicolas Kuhn. Alistair Johnston takes seventh while Jota is in tenth.

Rangers have just two players in the top 10 with Nicolas Raskin and Mohamed Diomande featuring, while Celtic-linked Motherwell starlet Lennon Miller is valued at €8m.
