Nicolas Kuhn’s future at Celtic continues to be a huge talking point.

There are several clubs linked with Kuhn’s signature, but one team that has popped up quite a bit of late is his former side, RB Leipzig.

Kuhn came through the ranks at Leipzig as a youngster, but he didn’t play for the German side before making a name for himself at Rapid Wien in Austria.

That’s when Celtic signed Kuhn, as he joined the champions of Scotland during the January transfer window of 2024, but he could already be heading for the exit door.

Leipzig sacked their coach, Marco Rose, in March after a poor campaign, including Celtic’s win over RB during the league phase of the Champions League, as they were eliminated at the revamped group stage.

And now there are expected to be changes at the top of the Red Bull brand.

Red Bull to change as Leipzig target Celtic’s Nicolas Kuhn

The man brought in to try and change Leipzig’s fortunes around is Ole Werner, the club’s new head coach, who previously managed Werder Bremen.

It was suggested by German reporter Philipp Hinze on social media that the RB brand is returning to their old ways and they will be playing ‘a back four’, and that’s where Celtic’s star winger comes into the picture.

Leipzig want to operate with ‘distinct wingers’, rather than wing-backs, and the formations that are set to be operated across the Red Bull board are either ‘4-3-3, 4-2-3-1, or 4-2-2-2’, formations and systems that would allow Kuhn to thrive.

“Nicolas Kühn: RB is still pursuing, intensifying their interest,” shared Hinze. “Other wingers are on the list.

“Clear profile: Leipzig wants to operate with distinct wingers from a back four next season. This has been discussed with Ole Werner.

“Whether 4-3-3, 4-2-3-1, or 4-2-2-2 – RB is returning to a back four & aims to implement this as effectively as possible across the entire Red Bull cosmos.”

How many football teams do Red Bull own?

It isn’t popular with many people across the footballing world, but Red Bull is now a prominent figure in the game.

Legendary football manager Jurgen Klopp is Head of Global Soccer for Red Bull GmbH, after taking up the role in January following his Liverpool exit.

Klopp is overseeing these clubs, but doesn’t have a day-to-day management of any of these sides, which are littered across the world:
