Celtic have got a fairly long to-do list ahead of the January transfer window.
Wilfried Nancy is looking to mould the team to suit his formation, and it’s fair to say that this is a work in progress.
Celtic have struggled in front of goal to say the least, and attacking reinforcements are a must if Nancy is to successfully hunt Hearts down in the title race.
But with Yang Hyun-Jun and Sebastian Tounekti now being used as makeshift wing-backs, this is an obvious position where more suitable players will be targeted.
And in the form of Julian Araujo, Nancy may have his man for the right side.
Xavi on Celtic target Julian Araujo
Araujo was signed by Barcelona from LA Galaxy in 2023, having broken through as a teenager in MLS.
He was loaned out to Las Palmas six months later, before joining Bournemouth for £9 million last summer.

Xavi was the Barcelona manager who signed Araujo, and played a major role in the Mexico international’s decision to move to the Catalan giants.
At the time of his loan move to Las Palmas, Araujo said: “Xavi told me to go on loan to Las Palmas because it was the best place to grow.
“I’m very happy to be here, and I’m looking forward to getting started. It was worth it to come here after many weeks of negotiations, and I’m grateful to Barcelona and my representatives for closing the deal.”
Xavi knows him well as a player, and speaking of his impressive spell at the Gran Canaria side, he said: “We value Julian’s performance positively.
“Bojan is monitoring those on loan and he is one of those who is playing positively.
“He is also playing well and with personality. He is having a great season and I am happy for him.”
Celtic are strong contenders to land Araujo on loan in January, according to reports.
Wilfried Nancy’s other January targets at Celtic
As the team looks for more goals, Wessam Abou Ali and Diego Rossi could both follow Nancy from Columbus to Glasgow.
Celtic are in the race for Jocelin Ta Bi, a left-footed right-winger who is currently playing in Israel. They are facing competition from Belgian sides.
Closer to home, midfielders Josh Mulligan and David Watson are both reportedly of interest.
Strikers Ibrahim Diabate and Evan Ferguson have also been mentioned, but neither are actively being pursued at the moment.
