When Haissem Hassan is expected to return for pre-season as Celtic transfer talk becomes chaotic

Celtic want to bolster their forward line ahead of the new Premiership season.

Along with Camilo Duran and Kasper Hogh, Egypt’s World Cup star Haissem Hassan has been heavily linked with Celtic.

One thing is for sure: there is interest from Celtic in Hassan, but during the last few days, everything has become chaotic.

From suggestions that he could be off to Inter to a supposed deal being struck with Martin O’Neill’s side, it has been like a yo-yo for the emotions of the Celtic support, who are pretty much used to all of this.

But as Hassan prepares to return to pre-season with Real Oviedo in the coming days, it seems some of the noise around his name has stemmed from Egypt, which has since been debunked.

Haissem Hassan due back for pre-season with Real Oviedo on July 29

While talk around Hassan’s future goes into overdrive, the player himself is still a Real Oviedo player.

Local journalist Pablo Fernández has stated that Hassan will be due back in pre-season on Wednesday, July 29, ‘in principle’, after starring for Egypt at this summer’s World Cup, as he posted on social media.

Hassan and Celtic transfer noise cooled down

One journalist – Fuad Alakbarov ⁠⁠- was one of those to hype the noise around Hassan and Celtic in recent days.

But he has since stated that the information he got from Egypt has turned out ‘not to be true’, as he explained on social media.

This also comes after Greek journalist George Tsarouchas claimed that the champions of Scotland are ‘set to finalise’ another huge capture with this Hassan signing.

But once again, all of this has been debunked on social media by journalists covering Scottish football, including Anthony Joseph of Sky Sports and Ryan McDonald of the Daily Record.

Clearly, nothing has been agreed, and it seems as though social media talk through some journalists has proven to be incorrect so far.

But that doesn’t mean there isn’t interest in the winger’s services.

What’s encouraging from Joseph and McDonald’s posts is that Hassan is a target; it’s just a case of getting something done.

In typical Celtic fashion, they always go the long way around, and as long as the all-action winger signs on the dotted line, then those repping the green and white Hoops will be more than delighted.
