Celtic have released goalkeeper Ryan Mullen as well as defender Brody Paterson and midfielder Kerr McInroy, The Scottish Daily Express reports this afternoon.
Mullen is now expected to go on trial with Sheffield United during the summer months in an effort to earn a deal working with their U23s side.
The paper say that, just like Luca Connell who was also released today, Celtic had an option on the final year of Mullen’s contract and have decided to let him pursue opportunities elsewhere.

Tobi Oluwayemi is ahead of the 21-year-old in the Celtic pecking order and Mullen has had unfortunate luck with injuries over the last couple of years. His loan to Cove Rangers was cut short in 2020 and he didn’t have much better success at Queen’s Park.
However, he did briefly spend time with the first team under Ange Postecoglou, named on the bench against St Johnstone in December.
Midfielder Kerr McInroy, also 21, had spells out on loan at Ayr United and Airdrie last season but was always destined for an exit with his contract expiring this summer.
Paterson, a left-back, spent time out on loan at Queen’s Park in 2021/22, playing regularly alongside Connell and helping them gain promotion into the Scottish Championship.
It’s a sign that Celtic are getting the ball rolling on recruitment decisions this summer after an initial holiday break following trophy day.
With the future of young players being quickly sorted out, it surely won’t be long until we start to hear confirmed news on what’s happening with first-team talents.
