A lot has been made of Celtic’s youth system in recent times.

On the one hand, Celtic are dominating Scotland with ease, including winning the double last season, and also making it 14 titles out of the last 15.

So, in truth, that’s all that matters, no matter how Brendan Rodgers or anybody else goes about it, because it is the bread and butter.

But the fact remains that Celtic’s academy, or the young players coming through from the domestic circuit, aren’t being provided with the chances or are heading to England to earn a more financially rewarding contract.

However, with the 2025 summer transfer window open, and a lot of talk around who the club has signed or will sign.

It’s great to see, amid some people’s worry at a lack of youth coming through, that a young star is signing his first professional contract and locking in his future to Scotland’s most successful football club.

FIFA agent Phil McTaggart reacts after Conor Daly signs a professional Celtic contract

Phil McTaggart is a FIFA agent, and he has shared on Instagram that he helped youngster Conor Daly sign a professional contract with Celtic.

Daly is a rising midfielder, and has been in Glasgow as a young boy, but now he is making the step up in his career.

McTaggart dubbed Daly ‘the future’, and also explained how he was ‘very proud’ to support the teenager, and his family during their ‘negotiations to achieve his dream of signing for his boyhood club’.

“Presenting Conor Daly, the future @Celticfc,” wrote McTaggart.

“Very proud to support Conor and his family throughout these negotiations to achieve his dream of signing for his boyhood club. ✍️

‘Everything is possible for this young man now, the platform is yours, dream big Conor. ✨’

What Celtic said about Daly’s new contract

The club itself has also commented on Daly committing his future to the champions of Scotland.

Celtic posted on their website that Daly will now make the step up to ‘the professional level of the Academy’, as his development with the Hoops continues.

It also noted how Daly has represented Scotland at the younger age groups – three appearances for the U15s, and has now been called up to the U16s.
