Barry Ferguson’s bizarre Celtic tears as Sky Sports skip the most obvious question for Rangers boss

Celtic’s draw with Rangers puts the final Glasgow Derby of the season to bed.

With the league done and dusted, Brendan Rodgers made his way to Ibrox to face Rangers with a mini Celtic injury crisis.

The Celtic starting XI was missing the likes of Jota, Nicolas Kuhn, Alistair Johnston and Kasper Schmeichel as Rodgers named a much-changed side from the team that beat Dundee United last week.

However, a draw between Celtic and Rangers was a fair result but Barry Ferguson had a strange verdict on the penalty call late into the second half.

What Barry Ferguson warned Rangers at half time about Celtic

Celtic conceded a goal just before halftime after Adam Idah missed a golden chance to put the Hoops one up late into the first 45 minutes.

And Ferguson shared what he warned his players to expect from Celtic inside the Ibrox dressing room.

Ferguson told Sky Sports, “[I told them] To be aware that they’ll be hurting in the away dressing room. That’s normal. They’ve got an experienced manager with a lot of experienced players, so you know that they’re going to come out and they’re going to try and get that goal back.

“But as I said, just disappointed the way we lost the goal as well. But after they lost it it’s easy to feel sorry for yourself. Certainly, the boys kept fighting. They kept going. As I said, the only thing that I would maybe pick up in this is we can get better, certainly in the final third.”

Celtic did come out the second half looking sharper and speaking about the penalty incident between Callum McGregor and Nicolas Raskin, the Rangers boss dropped a bizarre verdict.

Ferguson continued, “The way I look at it, if that’s on any other area of the pitch, it’s a foul.

“But look, we didn’t get much today so we’ll just leave it at that.”

The obvious Celtic question Sky Sports didn’t ask Rangers boss

Hoops boss Brendan Rodgers was immediately asked by Sky Sports on his thoughts about the missiles that were thrown by Rangers fans at full time.

The Celtic boss said that the authorities need to do more to stamp this out. But, rather strangely, Ferguson wasn’t asked his thoughts on the matter.

The Rangers boss was quizzed about his future, the takeover and everything else surrounding the match but, rather weirdly, there was nothing on the missile incident.

Celtic players, fans and the coaching staff have been subject to this abuse for years now and the silence from the SFA is deafening.

It will be interesting to what action, if any, the authorities take on the latest Ibrox embarrassment.
