Celtic suffered defeat to rivals Rangers this afternoon in what was a disappointing day.
Brendan Rodgers‘ side started miserably and fell 2-0 behind before the half-time whistle as they struggled to keep up with the pace of the game. It would have taken a rocket from the manager in the changing room to drag them back into the match, but it all seemed to be working out.
Daizen Maeda and Reo Hatate clawed Celtic back into the action but a late slip-up saw substitute Hamza Igamane win the game 3-2 for the Light Blues and stun Celtic Park.
Following Hatate’s strike and before the eventual winner, Celtic were in domination mode and looked the side more likely to find a winner late in the game.

BBC’s Richard Gordon says Celtic looked like winning the game
And that view was shared by BBC man Richard Gordon who summarised the 90 minutes on Sportsound after the fact.
“It was a 28th goal of the season for Daizen Maeda, he got Celtic back into it at the start of the second half, Reo Hatate with a really fine finish to make it 2-2,” he said.
“At that point you really only saw one winner and I suppose that will add to the pride Rangers will feel because beyond that they created one or two really good opportunities, Dessers had an opening, Barron should’ve done better.
“Then up steps Igamane, it was one of those he just smashes it with his laces through it and he must’ve known the minute he connected with it that it was flying into the top corner.”
Celtic missed big chances in Rangers defeat
Celtic missed some big chances during the game and it was defender Alistair Johnston who was the culprit in the fifth minute of stoppage time.
The Canadian found himself all alone at the back post from a deep delivery but he scooped the ball over the crossbar to watch the chance of another leveler sail away.
Maik Nawrocki also missed a gilt-edge chance which was kept out by Jack Butland but another BBC pundit, Steven Thompson, was adamant it was an “easy chance” he should’ve scored from.
“He’s got to score, he’s free in the middle of the six-yard box,” Thompson said. “It’s a very easy header and he puts it right at Jack Butland. That should be 2-1.”
