Brendan Rodgers has stated that he had ‘no qualms’ with picking Dane Murray over Auston Trusty for Hearts vs Celtic.
With Cameron Carter-Vickers out injured for three-to-five months, the Celtic manager was left with a decision on whom he would choose to play next to Liam Scales.
Jahmai Simpson-Pusey is yet to make his debut for the senior side, while Trusty has also been waiting for his opportunity.
In the end, Rodgers chose Murray and had a simple explanation for his decision.

Brendan Rodgers picks Dane Murray over Auston Trusty
Murray is starting a Scottish Premiership game for the first time this season, and the centre-back was chosen by Rodgers as a reward for his performances during pre-season.
He told Celtic TV: “It’s a big opportunity. If you want to play for Celtic, every game is a big game.
“Of course, when you come to Tynecastle, then it is what you have to do.
“I’ve got no qualms about Dane. He played so well over pre-season and in the games he’s come into this season.
“He’s a big presence, he’s quick and he can play. It also gives us the balance in the team with two left-footers at centre-back.
“He deserves the opportunity.”
Dane Murray has a big future at Celtic
Rodgers’ latest decision is proof that Murray could have a huge future with his boyhood club.
Celtic agreed a new contract with Murray and he has since scored his first goal for the Hoops in the Premier Sports Cup win against Falkirk.
The centre-back has had to be patient to get his chance with the club, but it feels that the rewards are finally being realised.
