Celtic huffed and puffed but eventually blew St Mirren down.
For all the attacking endeavour Celtic showed against St Mirren, Brendan Rodgers’ side toiled to break down a dogged defence for just over 80 minutes.
A Luke McCowan goal eventually earned Celtic all three points and the Bhoys now sit joint-top of the Scottish Premiership table with Hibs.
Stephen Robinson had a wee moan about Celtic’s finances as the St Mirren boss talked up his side’s performance.
However, it could have been more comfortable for Celtic if Callum McGregor’s goal had not been chalked off by VAR.
And here, the Celtic captain made his feelings perfectly clear on the decision.

Celtic captain Callum McGregor calls out ‘harsh’ VAR call vs St Mirren
VAR has been the bane of Celtic’s life for the past three years. The amount of controversy the video referee has caused has been annoying for the Hoops support.
And it appears that yesterday’s decision has annoyed McGregor.
McGregor told Sky Sports Scotland, “It’s obviously, like harsh. If you go by the ruling, then it touches your arm…
“It’s fine. I thought it was quite high up, but you just have to accept it. Some you’ll get, some you won’t get.
“So the most important thing is that we find a way to win. Doesn’t matter who scores the goals. Luke’s been amazing since he’s come back pre-season and gets his goal today.
“Everyone comes in and helps the team, and like I said, the most important thing is the three points.”
Celtic’s disallowed goal vs St Mirren: 67 Hail Hail’s verdict
McGregor’s goal allowed a huge sigh of relief to be released all around Celtic Park yesterday.
And whilst it was disappointing to see VAR rule it out, unfortunately the call was correct.
The ball struck McGregor’s elbow and put it in his path to have a shot on target. That means regardless of whether it was meant or not, the referee and VAR made the correct call.
Whilst McGregor’s ‘harsh’ verdict pretty much sums it up, on this occasion, the SFA appointed officials got this correct.
