Celtic return to Scottish Premiership league action against the lowly Livingston.

The Bhoys beat Dundee in the Scottish Cup at the weekend and went with a strong XI to get the job done.

Livingston have had the weekend off but they are desperate to avoid being cut so far adrift from the rest of the table.

Six points separate them and 11th placed Kilmarnock, and Marvin Bartley’s side know they already can’t finish in the top six before the split.

They are 24 games without a win at the moment, and one step closer to achieving a record that will haunt them forever.

Celtic could have Livingston fearing Brechin City record

You’ll be hard pressed to find anyone who doesn’t think that Celtic won’t beat Livingston at Parkhead.

24 league games without a win is a dire record in itself, but not as bad as the one set by Brechin City.

They managed to go an entire league season without a win across a 36-game season.

As for Livi, their only three points of the 2025/26 campaign came in August but, if they don’t win a game for the rest of the season, including the post-split games, then they will surpass Brechin’s record.

What happened in Celtic’s last meeting against Livingston?

The last meeting between the two teams was one of the only positives from Wilfried Nancy’s tenure.

A ding-dong battle that saw four goals scored within the first 10 minutes before the Bhoys reasserted control.

Celtic went on to win the game 4-2 that day in December, with Benjamin Nygren starring on that day.

It was the perfect encapsulation of the crazy 33-day period under Nancy but some much-needed relief after a very difficult run of fixtures.
