Let’s be honest, there isn’t much for Celtic to shout about from the 2025 summer transfer window.
When all of it was unfolding, Celtic fans knew they were in a spot of bother, and it turned out exactly how many feared it would: a complete and utter failure.
Even Brendan Rodgers himself, months after the summer window had slammed shut, was moaning about it and making ‘Honda Civic’ remarks about his squad.
But perhaps amongst the darkness, there is a light, and that’s the loan signing of Marcelo Saracchi.

Pat Bonner lauds Marcelo Saracchi after Celtic beat Dundee in the Scottish Cup
Celtic signed two left-backs over the summer following Greg Taylor’s exit. Saracchi and Kieran Tierney.
Of course, Tierney got the headlines because he was returning to his boyhood club.
However, the arrival of Saracchi from Boca Juniors seems to have gone under the radar because he has been a brilliant acquisition.
The Uruguay international returned from injury over the weekend, as Celtic beat Dundee in the Scottish Cup.
Speaking on BBC Radio Scotland, Pat Bonner wanted to give his flowers to Celtic’s back-up left-back and the impact he had from the bench.
Bonner stated that Saracchi is a ‘dynamic’ player, and that the champions of Scotland now have options from the bench.
“Saracchi going on the pitch, though,” said Bonner. “I think he did well when he went on. He hasn’t played for such a long time.
“He is a dynamic player. He gets himself into good positions. When you look at it from that point of view, Celtic getting players in the door, they have been able to rest a few, put them on the bench, then bring them on to make that impact.
“I think the bench now is such an important part of the game, if you can take what four or five players off the bench.
“And if they are the right players, it gives you an impetus in the game.”
