It was a comfortable win for Celtic against Partick Thistle on Sunday afternoon in the League Cup quarter-final.
Goals from Hyunjun Yang, Liam Scales, Sebastian Tounekti and Luke McCowan ensured that Celtic booked their semi-final ticket at Hampden.
Tounekti won Man of the Match on debut against Kilmarnock last week, but you can make that two in two after his performance at Firhill.
And you can bet your bottom dollar that the Celtic Park faithful are loving it.

The goal was a thing of beauty, and one very much deserved for Tounekti, and you can see from his celebration that it meant a lot to him.
With Reo Hatate in a quarterback position on the edge of his own box, he played a delightful pitch-perfect ball over the top to the on-rushing Tounekti, who took the ball in his stride, cut inside, it looked like he was going to shoot, but instead, he played a delightful one-two with Kelechi Iheanacho.
The Tunisia international then kept his composure and coolly slotted home for Celtic’s third goal of the game.
Celtic fans are in awe as Tounekti shines again
Every Celtic fan is loving what they are seeing from Tounekti, and there is a common theme coming from them all.
That’s regarding the timing of his transfer, and how if he had been signed earlier during the 2025 transfer window that things might have been different.
Celtic were booted out of the Champions League in August, and you can understand why fans think it would have been different.
@caim67 explained that Tounekti has lifted him: ‘Sebastian Tounekti has rejuvenated my soul.’
@Fitzy__07 thinks Celtic have another Jota on their hands: ‘Sebastian Tounekti genuinely looks to be Jota 2.0 – and we’ve still got Jota 1.0 to come back from injury.’
More love for Celtic’s summer signing, as @Bricky67_ added: ‘Tounekti has been absolutely superb so far, really like the look of him.’
@90MinuteCynic described Tounekti’s goal using two words: ‘That 1-2 between Tounekti and Ihenacho was utter joy.’
@RussellBoyce1 with a message to the Celtic board: ‘Tounekti again looking so sharp and positive with the ball. That one signing alone before the CL play-offs would have been enough of a difference to our play over the 2 legs we would have got through comfortably. Eyes on the Board.’
Another Jota comparison, as @_CM_67_ added: ‘Sebastian Tounekti and Joao Pedro Neves Filipe “Jota”.’
@elizabethc78 is already putting Tounekti in as Celtic’s best player so far: ‘That’s a beautiful goal. I’m gonna go all in and say I love Tounekti already. Probably our player of the season so far, and he’s only played 2 games.’
@FootballTrikot joked ‘keep the board’ given Tounekti’s impact: ‘Tounekti is a cracking wee player. Keep The Board!’
@JoshMcCafferty7 thinks Celtic’s new winger deserved his goal: Sebastian Tounekti fully deserves that goal for his early efforts in a Celtic shirt. Kelechi Iheanacho’s deft touch was top – his link-up play has been very good today.’
@gregofrancomiki thinks there are still more levels to hit: ‘Tounekti looks class already. Can imagine he’s just going to get better.’
@mdcfc88 thinks Celtic would be in the Champions League if Tounekti was here earlier: ‘It’s simple enough to say that if Tounekti was there early in August, then we beat Kairat. That failure means those responsible must go.’
