What a start to his Celtic career for Sebastian Tounekti.
On Sunday, Celtic beat Kilmarnock to move back to the top of the Premiership table, and some new faces impressed.
Despite not scoring or assisting, and he deserved something to his name, Tounekti was Man of the Match, after Brendan Rodgers threw him straight into Celtic’s starting XI.
But the man who stole the headlines was another debutant in Kelechi Iheanacho, and Tounekti, rightfully, wanted to give him his flowers.

Sebastian Tounekti’s verdict on Kelechi Iheanacho after Celtic’s win over Kilmarnock
Iheanacho came off the bench with 20 minutes left on the clock and wasn’t getting as involved as much as he would have liked, but then Celtic were awarded a stoppage-time penalty.
Even though captain Callum McGregor was on the pitch, Celtic’s new boy took the ball and marked his debut by winning the game for the Hoops.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Tounekti described that moment as ‘cold’ from Iheanacho, including how it’s ‘all honour to him’, even though he was the one collecting his Man of the Match award.
“It was fine,” responded Tounekti on his Celtic debut. “I know my quality. I knew it when I came here. One of the reasons I came to Celtic is that I think it fits my playing style. I think it showed against Kilmarnock.
“I am just happy to play. Hopefully, I can make some goals and more assists throughout the season.
On Celtic mentality and sticking at it right until the end vs Killie: “Of course, it’s a massive club,” responded Tounekti. “We know that we have to just keep going until the end.
“We have a great mentality, and Kelechi is cold there (for the penalty). It’s a lot of pressure when you go up and take that penalty, so all honour to him.”
Does Iheanacho start for Celtic against Partick Thistle?
Celtic’s Treble push starts here. It’s crazy to think that, given Celtic’s dominance in Scotland for a long time now, this is the norm, in terms of expectations.
A certain former Bhoys player, Mark Wilson, is in the Thistle dugout and his side will welcome Celtic for the League Cup quarter-final on Sunday.
Is this the platform for Iheanacho to start? Three days later, Celtic will begin their Europa League campaign, so perhaps some form of rotation is needed, and that probably means throwing Iheanacho in from the start.
