Several new faces have been making their Celtic debuts in recent weeks.
It’s a little too late because these debuts should have come over a month ago, but that’s the incompetence of the Celtic board and how they have backed Brendan Rodgers.
One man who featured for the first time during Celtic’s win over Kilmarnock on Sunday was winger Sebastian Tounekti.
And it’s fair to say that he left an impression on the Celtic Park faithful.

From minute one, Tounekti went past his full-back and attempted to put a cross into the box. Forget about the aftermath of that; it’s just the pure fact that he attempted that straightaway that was refreshing to see.
For a long time, Celtic fans have wanted their wingers to take their man on and get them off their seats. It’s fair to say that the new kid on the block did that.
Those on social media did everything they could by not overreacting to his performance, but comparisons to Lionel Messi and Neymar were used.
@mcgceltic thinks Celtic’s new signing was the ‘best player’ on the park: ‘Tounekti has been our best player. Saracchi has been half decent too.’
More praise for the new Bhoy, as @Chr1sC67 added: ‘Tounekti looks pretty good.’
@Dave_McH shared what’s ‘promising’ about Tounekti: ‘Hopefully Tounekti can hit the ground running, as he was already well into his season in Sweden before joining us. Sounds like he’s been one of the brighter sparks today so far, which is promising.’
@Kieran_Sellick noted Celtic’s link-up on the left-hand side: ‘Tounekti and link up with Saracchi only bright spark of the first half, but once again look so slow and passive in large stages. Seriously should be looking at Kelechi and Engels soon, as if we can, need a change and a threat going forward.’

@sdceltic1 continued the theme: ‘Tounekti a bright spot so far, pretty pedestrian otherwise. The Killie carpet their 12th man.’
@DC19943 analysed three of Celtic’s new signings: ‘Hard watch, Tounekti looks promising, Balikwisha meh pretty negative although it’s early days. Also, don’t think I’ve seen a player as reliant on the one foot as Saracchi.’
@Bazzinho9 tried not to overreact with his Neymar comparison: ‘Not one to exaggerate, but Tounekti is better than Neymar.’
Better than prime Messi, as @renic777 added: ‘Don’t want to go overboard but tounekti is better than prime Messi.’
@hctelfih is in no doubt that Tounekti was head and shoulders above everyone: ‘It’ll be extremely harsh if Tounekti doesn’t end up with a goal or an assist, he deserves it, been the best player on the pitch without a doubt.’

It’s no surprise that Tounekti was handed a pretty strong rating by WhoScored for his performance, and this is without scoring or assisting.
In truth, the 23-year-old deserved something from the match, in that regard, because it could be argued that he was the best player on the park.
