Former Celtic captain, Tom Boyd, has superbly helped The Green Brigade and other fans lay out tomorrow’s full-stadium tifo at Celtic Park.
The group raised almost £20,000 to produce the pre-match display against Aberdeen, which will be their second full-stadium effort of the season. Like flag day at the start of the campaign, it will set the tone for a day of celebration and create a wonderful spectacle prior to kick-off.
Boyd was photographed today helping attach materials to seats, which was uploaded to social media site Twitter by the North Curve Celtic group.
The Green Brigade have urged fans to be in their seats early and to remember to raise the materials as the teams exit the tunnel. They say it is the most ambitious tifo ever attempted in Scotland and will require a full house to execute it properly.
Saturday is promising to be a great day for Celtic fans. Former manager Martin O’Neill is already confirmed to be in attendance to kickstart proceedings on The Celtic Way in the morning, while the party looks guaranteed to spill into the Glasgow streets after the full-time whistle.
Along the way, it would be nice to see the Bhoys produce a convincing performance again, having been lacklustre in recent weeks. The team have gone three matches on the bounce without winning.
It’s natural for motivation levels to dip having already wrapped up the trophy, but fans want Saturday to be memorable and part of that is ensuring some nice football is played. Aberdeen have already wrapped up third position in the league so they have little to play for too, which may help.
Either way, it’s in the hands of the team to contribute to what should be a brilliant occasion on and off the pitch. I can’t wait to see how this latest tifo display looks.
