Celtic may well be champions, but that doesn’t mean they don’t want bragging rights.

In the final Glasgow derby of the season, Celtic face Rangers at Ibrox as 2,000 supporters prepare to pack the away end.

Fans in the Celtic end have been issued a pre-match warning whilst all of the discussion before kick off has been about whether or not Rangers will give the Scottish Premiership champions a guard of honour.

Kris Boyd thinks Rangers won’t give a guard of honour but Brendan Rodgers will have bigger fish to fry when it comes to his squad selection.

With the Scottish Cup final on the horizon and a Treble-winning campaign in sight, a headache about who to pick for the final meeting between the two rivals this season.

Brendan Rodgers could be missing four key stars

Momentum will be key going into the final weeks of the season so it will come as a blow to Rodgers that four Celtic players missed training on Friday.

Daizen Maeda, Nicolas Kuhn, Jota and Alistair Johnston were all absent at Lennoxtown, sparking some concern.

Jota has been ruled out for nine months after leaving the 5-0 win at Dundee United on crutches and is unlikely to be available until 2026 at the earliest.

Johnston is also unavailable whilst Kuhn and Maeda are doubts, which plays a part in how the XI could look.

Predicted Celtic XI vs Rangers

Taking into account the injuries picked up, it’s going to look like a pretty threadbare side in the attacking department.

Starting in goal will of course be Viljami Sinisalo, who keeps his place despite Kasper Schmeichel edging closer to a return.

Anthony Ralston is the natural replacement for Johnston whilst the rest of the back four: Cameron Carter-Vickers, Liam Scales and Greg Taylor keep their spots.

Captain Callum McGregor starts along with Reo Hatate and Arne Engels up top.

Due to the lack of options in attack, Jeffrey Schlupp is being pushed up to play as a left winger – something he did when at Leicester City.

Completing the attack will be forward Adam Idah and Celtic’s most decorated player, James Forrest.
